NOVE is expanding its retail presence in Malaysia, and we are looking for a driven, sales-focused Area Manager to oversee multiple retail locations.
This is a hands-on, field-based role. You will spend most of your time in stores, working closely with frontline teams to drive sales performance, coach store leaders, and ensure operational excellence. You are expected to understand the retail environment deeply, translate data into action, and motivate teams to consistently achieve and exceed targets.

Key Responsibilities
1 Sales Performance & Business Growth
- Take full ownership of area sales performance and achievement of KPIs, including Sales target/ Conversion rate/ Average Transaction Value (ATV)/ Discount rate
- Break down sales targets into clear, actionable goals for each store and team
- Analyse daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and implement corrective actions
- Develop and execute store-level sales strategies to improve performance
- Actively coach teams on sales techniques, product knowledge and selling scripts
- Stay close to the frontline to understand challenges and remove obstacles to sales
2 Loyalty & Membership
- Guide staff to easily encourage and convert customers to join the NOVE Membership Program.
3 Retail Operations & Store Excellence
- Oversee daily operations across multiple retail outlets to ensure smooth execution
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor Service standards/ After-sales service & support/ Store cleanliness and presentation/ Visual merchandising execution/ Compliance with SOPs and mall regulations
- Support stores during peak periods, campaigns and operational challenges
- Ensure consistency in brand standards, customer experience and store execution
4 Team Leadership & People Management
- Recruit, onboard, and support store managers / senior sales assistants
- Manage duty rosters, manpower planning, attendance and discipline
- Motivate and inspire retail teams to perform at a high level
- Conduct regular store briefings, performance reviews and coaching sessions
- Identify high-potential talents and support their development
- Foster a performance-driven, positive and accountable retail culture
5 Training & Capability Building
- Ensure retail teams are well-trained in Product knowledge/ Sales techniques and objection handling/ Engagement and service standards/ Store SOPs and operational best practices/ After-sales service and support
- Conduct on-the-ground training and refresher sessions
- Equip teams with the āweaponsā needed to win on the sales floor
6 Inventory, VM & Campaign Execution
- Monitor stock levels, sell-through performance and stock allocation
- Work closely with HQ team on inventory planning and replenishment
- Ensure promotional activities, campaigns, and VM guidelines are executed properly
- Provide feedback on VM effectiveness and product performance
7 Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Stay updated on competitor activities, pricing, promotions and market trends
- Conduct market research and store benchmarking
- Compile insights and reports for Retail Manager and HQ team
- Provide recommendations to improve sales, customer experience, and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of retail experience, with at least 2 years managing multiple outlets
- Strong background in retail sales-driven environments (electronics, gadgets, lifestyle, sports or specialty retail preferred)
- Proven ability to drive sales performance through people and execution
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate numbers into action
- Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills
- Highly independent, proactive, and results-oriented
- Willing to travel frequently and work on-site at retail stores
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
