About Surechem Sdn Bhd
Founded in 1987, Surechem Sdn Bhd is Malaysia’s leading total solution provider for measurement, real-time monitoring, and automated systems. We specialize in environmental, geotechnical, soil, water, and climate monitoring infrastructure. Our dedicated team delivers end-to-end solutions—from SCADA and telemetry to site installation and data analysis—for major national projects including hydropower dams, MRT & railways, early warning systems, and renewable energy stations. We work closely with government agencies, research institutes, oil & gas companies, and private consortiums to protect infrastructure and the environment.
We are looking for a versatile and hands-on Lead E&I / Systems Engineer to supervise our technical and engineering team. You won't just be restricted to traditional "Electrical & Instrumentation" tasks; we need a dynamic senior technical professional who understands system integration, data acquisition, and field installations.
You will oversee the deployment of automated, real-time monitoring systems across diverse terrains and industries—from urban rail networks to remote environmental stations. If you have a knack for problem-solving, project execution, and bridging the gap between hardware, software, and field operations, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians in the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of measurement and monitoring systems.
- System Integration: Oversee the implementation of telemetry, IoT solutions, and data logging systems for environmental, hydrological, and structural monitoring.
- End-to-End Execution: Manage project lifecycles from initial site surveys and system design to deployment, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client requirements.
- Client & Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact with clients and coordinate closely with international suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
- Field Operations Management: Plan and coordinate site works across Malaysia. Ensure all installations at dams, highways, tunnels, and plantations adhere strictly to safety protocols and engineering standards.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide high-level technical support for complex field equipment and scientific instrument failures, ensuring minimal downtime for critical early-warning and monitoring data.
- Resource Management: Manage equipment inventory, calibration schedules, and procurement of necessary components for project execution.
What We Require (Who You Are)
- Educational Background: Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Relevant Experience: At least 5–7 years of experience in system integration, instrumentation, automation, or project engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of sensors, data loggers, telemetry (GSM/GPRS, Radio, Satellite), and SCADA systems. Familiarity with environmental, meteorological, or geotechnical instruments is a massive plus.
- Software Proficiency (Added Advantage): Knowledge of Python programming and AutoCAD drawing is highly desirable and considered a strong plus point.
- Adaptability: You are not confined to a desk. You are comfortable traveling to diverse project sites (urban infrastructure, remote dams, or agricultural sites) to oversee critical installations.
- Leadership: Proven ability to foster teamwork, manage project timelines, and guide a team of technical staff with varying academic backgrounds.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively communicate with government bodies, private consultants, and international suppliers.
Why Join Us?
- Impactful Work: Your work directly contributes to national safety and environmental sustainability (flood forecasting, landslide early warnings, climate monitoring).
- Stable & Established: Join a company with nearly 40 years of solid track record and long-standing relationships with key national agencies.
- Collaborative Culture: We emphasize teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and a positive working environment.
