Job Title: Finance Executive
Job Overview
The Finance Executive is responsible for supporting the financial management of construction projects through accurate cost tracking, timely reporting, and adherence to regulatory and company standards. This role works closely with project and operations teams to ensure effective financial control and optimal project performance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Financial Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project costs, including materials, labour, and subcontractor expenses.
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and highlight variances for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of project cost reports, work-in-progress (WIP), and progress claims.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including project profitability and cost analysis.
- Support the preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Process and verify invoices, payment certificates, and supporting documentation.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor payments in a timely manner.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding collections.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and track project cash flow to ensure adequate funding for operations.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, consultants, and external stakeholders on financial matters.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the construction or related industry.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM3,900.00 per month
