Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support patient mobility by helping with walking, repositioning in bed, or transferring between bed and wheelchair.
- Serve meals and assist with feeding as necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs (under supervision) such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Report any changes in patients’ conditions or concerns to the nurse in charge promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, equipment, and common areas.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Assist in transporting patients to other departments for tests, procedures, or discharges.
- Support nurses during basic procedures or during emergency response situations.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy at all times.
Job Purpose:
To assist nursing and medical staff in delivering basic patient care, supporting the daily needs and comfort of patients while maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with hospital policies and healthcare standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) or equivalent.
- Completion of a Caregiving / Healthcare Assistant Course is preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or caregiving setting is an added advantage.
- Able to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and/or English.
