Role Overview
The Marketing Manager/ Assistant Manager is a specialist marketer responsible for driving Shake Shack’s digital content, brand campaigns, and event marketing execution in Malaysia. This role focuses on planning, managing, and optimizing marketing, communications, branding, and promotional activities across both online and offline channels.
This role plays a key part in shaping Shake Shack as a fun, lively community gathering place, bringing to life our identity as the leading modern-day “roadside” burger stand through engaging digital storytelling and memorable on-ground experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Planning
- Contribute to the development and execution of the annual marketing strategy and business plan
- Lead integrated marketing initiatives aligned with brand objectives, commercial priorities, and market opportunities
- Ensure all campaigns and initiatives strengthen brand positioning, customer engagement, and long-term business growth
- Identify consumer trends, market insights, and competitive opportunities to support strategic decision-making and innovation
Product Planning & Innovation
- Lead the planning and development of seasonal LTOs, menu innovations, and brand collaborations aligned with consumer insights and business objectives
- Partner closely with Culinary, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product feasibility, operational readiness, and launch excellence
- Support end-to-end NPD development, including product positioning, launch planning, pricing considerations, and customer communication strategy
- Evaluate product performance, customer feedback, and market trends to continuously optimize menu strategy and innovation pipeline
- Drive locally relevant product ideas and campaigns that strengthen brand differentiation and customer excitement
Digital Marketing, Communications & Social Media Management
- Lead and execute digital marketing initiatives across social media, CRM, paid media, and digital platforms
- Manage social media platforms including content planning, scheduling, posting, engagement, and community management
- Develop monthly content calendars aligned with brand campaigns and business objectives
- Create engaging and on-brand content for social media, campaigns, events, and promotional materials
- Ensure all communications align with Shake Shack’s brand identity and tone of voice
- Work closely with creative and media agencies on content development and campaign execution
- Monitor digital trends, audience engagement, and social media performance to enhance brand visibility
- Support copywriting and communication needs for campaigns, launches, and events
- Build strong relationships with media, influencers, and external partners to drive brand awareness
CRM & Customer Marketing
- Lead CRM marketing initiatives to strengthen customer engagement, retention, and loyalty
- Develop customer communication strategies across membership, lifecycle, and promotional campaigns to improve frequency and guest connection
- Analyze customer behavior, campaign performance, and CRM insights to identify opportunities for growth and personalization
- Work closely with internal and external partners to execute targeted CRM campaigns and customer engagement programs
- Support the development of data-driven marketing strategies that enhance customer experience and long-term brand affinity
Brand Campaigns, Events & Activations
- Develop and execute impactful brand campaigns, partnerships, promotions, and activations at both local and national levels
- Support new Shack openings and key campaign launches through strategic marketing initiatives and launch planning
- Manage end-to-end execution of events and activations, including budgeting, logistics, stakeholder coordination, and post-campaign analysis
- Maintain strong brand consistency across all consumer touchpoints, both online and offline
Performance & Reporting
- Track, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, product launches, CRM initiatives, and activations
- Monitor customer engagement, loyalty performance, and campaign effectiveness to support data-driven decision-making
- Prepare regular performance reports, post-campaign recaps, and strategic recommendations for leadership stakeholders
- Manage marketing budgets responsibly while maximizing campaign effectiveness and ROI
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, digital campaigns, or brand activations, preferably within F&B or lifestyle brands
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end campaigns (digital + offline)
- Exposure to event planning or activations is an advantage
- Ability to lead projects, manage budgets, and drive results
Skills & Experience
- Experience in F&B industry or advertising agency (client servicing) is an added advantage
