Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable (AP)
- Review and verify supplier invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documents.
- Ensure proper approvals are obtained before processing payments.
- Prepare payment proposals and payment schedules.
- Process supplier payments via online banking, cheques, or other payment methods.
- Maintain vendor master data and ensure accuracy of vendor records.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Respond to vendor queries and resolve payment issues promptly.
2. Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, debit notes, and credit notes.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and maintain updated AR aging reports.
- Follow up with customers or internal teams on overdue balances.
- Record receipts and ensure proper allocation to customer accounts.
- Investigate billing discrepancies and assist in resolving disputes.
3. General Ledger & Accounting
- Prepare and post accounting journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
- Maintain proper documentation and supporting schedules for accounting transactions.
- Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including bank, intercompany, and other key accounts.
- Ensure accounting entries comply with internal policies and accounting standards.
4. Month-End Closing
- Assist in preparing monthly closing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Ensure transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period.
- Support preparation of management reports and financial summaries.
- Assist in analysis of variances and unusual transactions.
5. Treasury & Cash Management
- Prepare bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Monitor daily bank transactions and cash movements.
- Assist in preparing cash flow reports and payment forecasts.
- Coordinate with banks on banking transactions and documentation when required.
6. Audit & Compliance Support
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents for external auditors.
- Assist in responding to audit queries and requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Support tax compliance including preparation of relevant tax schedules where required.
7. Financial Reporting Support
- Assist in preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
- Prepare supporting schedules for balance sheet and profit & loss accounts.
- Assist in updating financial models, cost analysis, or other financial data as required by management.
8. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and approval limits.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and operational efficiency.
9. Other Duties
- Assist with fixed asset management including asset register maintenance and depreciation schedules.
- Participate in finance-related projects such as system implementation or process automation.
- Perform other ad-hoc assignments as required by the Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or CFO
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Professional studies (ACCA / CPA / MICPA) is an advantage
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience
- Fresh graduates with strong accounting fundamentals are encouraged to apply
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team environment
Pay: RM2,996.71 - RM6,000.00 per month
