ABOUT THE ROLE

Rakyat Fintech Sdn Bhd is a lean, fast-moving technology company building intelligent software solutions for the financial services sector. You will be a core member of a small team, working hands-on across the full stack — from AI pipelines to the platforms that power them.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in meetings. You will build, ship, and maintain production systems from day one.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and integrate AI/LLM-powered features into web-based platforms and APIs

• Build and maintain backend services using Python-based frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Flask)

• Develop and maintain frontend interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React)

• Manage application deployments using Docker, Linux-based servers, and cloud or self-hosted environments

• Develop and maintain document processing and automation pipelines

• Debug and resolve issues across the full stack — frontend, backend, and AI layers

• Collaborate directly with the team lead on architecture decisions and feature delivery

• Maintain technical documentation for systems and processes

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related field

• Proficiency in Python; experience with at least one backend web framework

• Basic frontend development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript / React)

• Familiarity with REST APIs and third-party service integrations

• Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI tooling (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, Ollama)

• Comfortable working in a Linux / terminal environment

• Able to read documentation, troubleshoot independently, and deliver with minimal supervision

Preferred / Advantageous

• Experience with Docker and containerised deployments

• Knowledge of OCR, document intelligence, or data extraction pipelines

• Hands-on experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines

• Exposure to workflow automation tools (e.g. n8n, Zapier)

• Personal AI or software projects — GitHub portfolio, freelance work, or side projects are a strong plus

EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

• Salary: RM 2,500 – RM 3,000/month based on experience and interview performance
