We are looking for an experienced Environment Executive to support site environmental compliance for a fast-track power plant EPC project in Kimanis, Sabah.
This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with DOE, EIA, EMP, and Environmental Quality Act requirements throughout the construction phase. The position involves hands-on environmental monitoring, reporting, site inspections, scheduled waste management, and coordination with regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan in accordance with DOE conditions and EIA approval.
- Conduct and coordinate environmental monitoring activities, including water quality, air quality, noise, and vibration.
- Manage scheduled waste on site in compliance with Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005.
- Prepare and submit monthly or quarterly environmental monitoring reports to the client and DOE.
- Liaise with DOE and relevant regulatory bodies on environmental compliance matters.
- Implement spill prevention and response procedures, including spill incident management and corrective actions.
- Conduct environmental site inspections and audits, identify non-conformances, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain environmental documentation, including monitoring logs, disposal records, and audit reports.
- Conduct environmental awareness briefings for site personnel.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure environmental compliance across all site activities.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on site environmental compliance experience.
- Experience in EPC, power plant, oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects is strongly preferred.
- Familiar with DOE Malaysia regulatory requirements, EIA guidelines, EMP implementation, and the Environmental Quality Act 1974.
- Experience in environmental monitoring, scheduled waste management, spill control, environmental reporting, and site audits.
- CEPSWAM certification is an advantage.
- Able to prepare clear and accurate environmental monitoring reports and compliance submissions.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage site compliance requirements independently.
- Willing to be based at Kimanis Site, Sabah.
