Job Summary
The ECO cum Biodiversity Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, biodiversity conservation requirements, and Earth Control Measures (ECM) at project sites. The officer will oversee environmental monitoring, habitat protection, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives while coordinating with government authorities, consultants, and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce environmental compliance and Earth Control Measures (ECM) at project sites to ensure regulatory adherence
- Conduct detailed environmental inspections and audits, compiling accurate reports to document findings and support compliance
- Implement and oversee controls for waste, noise, dust, and water pollution to minimize environmental impact on project sites
- Monitor and protect flora, fauna, and sensitive habitats within project areas to support biodiversity conservation
- Coordinate effectively with government authorities, environmental consultants, and project teams to address environmental matters and facilitate compliance
- Deliver environmental awareness training sessions to project personnel to promote sustainable practices and compliance culture
- Support and contribute to sustainability initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental performance across projects
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Certified Environmental Control Officer (ECO) in Singapore (preferred)
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or environmental projects (preferred)
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Engineering, or related field (required)
- Knowledge of NEA, PUB, and environmental regulations in Singapore (required)
- Ability to conduct site inspections independently and produce clear communication, reporting, and coordination outcomes (required)
