Job Description

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Lead and drive the implementation of fit-for-purpose technical solutions in the area of specialization, including Process Safety. Provide technical guidance and support to adopt new methodologies and technologies, identify best practices within the organization and the industry, and integrate them into work processes, guidelines, and technical standards.
  • Lead capability development initiatives to build a pool of technically competent professionals in Process Safety.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and implement Process Safety strategy, technology roadmap, standards, and guidelines in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance to Entities in managing Process Safety risk, including HER, PASR, PHA, LOPA, and HAZOP. Provide guidance to offshore operations in developing Safety Case Evaluation (SCE) and ensure consistency in process safety risk management across the Group.
  • Provide expert technical advice for troubleshooting, diagnostics, audits, benchmarking, project risk assessment, and resolution of critical safety issues (“bad actors”) to safeguard assets and operational continuity.
  • Lead capability development efforts to build a technically competent process safety subject matter.
  • Lead and deploy technical aspects of projects and operational/engineering improvement initiatives; standardize implementation of best practices and capture lessons learned.
  • Monitor and analyse process safety performance, incident investigations, and risk assessment outcomes; consolidate and validate critical data to support management reviews and decision-making.
  • Plan, execute, and coordinate Process Safety training programs across the Group to enhance awareness and proactively address potential process safety risks.
  • Implement the Loss of Primary Containment (LOPC) reduction framework and Fire Mitigation Framework for offshore operations and guide marine operations to adopt best practices from these frameworks to enhance safety and reliability.
  • Identify, evaluate, and address technical requirements, emerging risks, and opportunities in Process Safety to continuously improve systems, prevent incidents, and protect the Group’s assets.
  • Lead Process Safety culture programmes across MISC Group.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas industry, and /or Petrochemical and Energy Industry.
  • Minimum 7 years in Process Safety Domain Engineering Internal Certifications Achieved Principal - level competency in designated sub-discipline. External License & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, with 10 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy industry, including a minimum of 7 years in Process Safety; achieved Principal-level competency in the designated sub discipline, with relevant internal and/or external certifications as required.
