Are you keen in playing a key role to drive business success? If that sounds like you, this role might be for you! We are looking for a Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations at Compass Beam Capital.
We're building a shared services finance function to support a group of entities — ranging from newly active to dormant — under Compass Beam Capital. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll set up the structure from scratch, own full-set accounts across multiple entities, coordinate directly with external auditors, and keep every entity clean, compliant, and financially visible to the group.
If you've led a shared services finance team and know what it takes to serve multiple business units without losing rigour, we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities
Shared services setup & operations
- Design and implement the shared services finance structure across all group entities, including active and dormant companies.
- Establish standardised processes, templates, and controls for all entities under the shared services function.
- Act as the central finance point of contact for intercompany transactions, queries, and reconciliations.
- Maintain proper documentation and accounting for dormant entities.
Accounting, reporting & financial management
- Own full-set accounts end-to-end across multiple entities — monthly close, statutory financials, and annual audit coordination with external auditors.
- Manage tax filings and liaise with tax authorities, banks, and regulatory bodies across entities.
- Develop and manage entity-level budgets; prepare consolidated group reporting with actuals vs budget variance commentary for leadership.
- Monitor group cash flow, flag liquidity concerns, and drive process improvements across the shared services function.
- Lead and mentor the finance team (or build one); manage task allocation and review work quality across entities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 6 years in finance and accounting, with at least 2–3 years managing multiple entities in a shared services environment.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of full-set accounts including monthly close and statutory audit preparation.
- Prior experience leading or supervising a finance team.
- Solid knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations and MFRS/IFRS compliance requirements.
Nice to have:
- Experience in a holding company, group finance, or investment entity structure.
- Background in setting up or restructuring a shared services finance function from scratch.
- Familiarity with multi-entity accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
