About the role

As a Manager / Senior Manager, you will be instrumental in developing SPH’s mid- to long-term business strategies. Your role will involve aligning these strategies with SPH’s priorities and driving the initiatives necessary to support SPH’s evolution in its news media industry.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis of news media industry trends and competitor strategies, both local and overseas, to inform SPH’s business strategy
• Develop scenarios based on potential future developments within news media industry and adjacent industries, and assess their implications on SPH’s operations
• Engage business divisions to align strategy and priorities, as well as implement plans
• Prepare reports and presentations summarising strategic insights and recommendations
• Coordinate meetings, management retreats and other secretariat duties

Who are we looking for

Qualifications:

• A recognized degree, preferably in Economics, Business, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

Skills & Knowledge:

• Excellent oral and written communication
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Experience in the media industry is a plus

Personal Competencies:

• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to quickly grasp a diverse array of organisational functions and topics
• Able to understand industry trends and developments, broader strategic directions and priorities, and translate these into actionable steps for project teams
• Strong problem-solving drive
• Experience in strategy development and/or project management is a plus
