This is a full-time, on-site SME Relationship Manager role based in Kota Kinabalu. The SME Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of small and medium enterprise (SME) clients by understanding their banking needs and proposing appropriate financial solutions. The role includes sourcing and onboarding new SME customers, conducting credit assessments, preparing financing proposals, and monitoring account performance and risk. The individual will maintain regular contact with clients, resolve service issues, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored lending, deposit, and transactional banking products. The position also involves achieving sales targets, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and contributing to local market development and business campaigns.

• Strong relationship management and client-facing skills, with the ability to build, grow, and retain SME customer portfolios.
• Solid knowledge of SME banking products, including lending, deposits, trade finance, and cash management solutions.
• Financial analysis and credit assessment capabilities, including the ability to review financial statements and evaluate business viability and risk.
• Sales, negotiation, and business development skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding performance targets.
• Familiarity with banking regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices in the financial services industry.
• Effective communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in additional Malaysian languages is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are a plus.
• Prior experience in SME or commercial banking, or in a client-facing role within financial services, is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with the Sabah market and local SME ecosystem is an added advantage.
