About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially driven Purchasing Executive to join our team. You will be at the heart of our retail operations, responsible for sourcing the right products at the right time to satisfy customer demand and maximize profitability. You will work closely with suppliers, manage inventory levels, and analyze market trends to ensure our product assortment remains competitive.

Key Responsibilities

• Assortment Planning: Collaborate with the sales and store management teams to identify product needs and plan seasonal/promotional assortments.
• Vendor Sourcing & Negotiation: Proactively identify, vet, and build strong relationships with suppliers. Negotiate competitive pricing, credit terms, and lead times to improve our bottom line.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock movement, manage reorder points, and oversee inventory turnover to prevent overstocking or stock-outs.
• Data Analysis: Regularly analyze sales performance reports, identify best/worst-sellers, and make data-backed recommendations for future purchasing cycles.
• Supply Chain Oversight: Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues related to shipment delays or quality control.
• Market Intelligence: Stay updated on retail industry trends, competitor pricing, and emerging products to maintain a strategic advantage.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in retail procurement, merchandising, or buying.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, and data visualization).
• Experience using ERP/POS systems and inventory management software.
• Solid understanding of retail financial metrics (Gross Margin, Markup, Inventory Turnover).
• Communication: Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills; ability to build lasting partnerships with diverse vendors.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to handle large datasets, spot patterns, and convert them into actionable buying strategies.
• Adaptability: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment and thrive under pressure during peak seasons.

Statutory Contributions: Full EPF, SOCSO, and EIS contributions.
