The Sourcing Engineer (Spare Parts) is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement and supply chain activities for engineering spare parts and industrial components. This role serves as the key interface between customers, internal stakeholders, and suppliers — ensuring timely availability of parts, competitive pricing, and reliable supply continuity.
Key responsibilities:
Customer & Technical Support
- Manage and respond to customer inquiries for spare parts, providing accurate technical clarifications
- Prepare detailed and competitive quotations aligned with customer specifications
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams to validate component compatibility
- Maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication
Supplier Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers for engineering components and spare parts
- Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base to reduce single-source dependency
- Conduct supplier assessments covering quality, delivery, and compliance
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with key vendors
Procurement & Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and commercial conditions
- Issue purchase orders and manage procurement workflows per internal policies
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs including delivery, quality, and cost
- Identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality
Logistics & Order Management
- Oversee inbound logistics, freight coordination, and customs documentation
- Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Maintain accurate inventory and order records within ERP/SAP systems
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for receiving and inspection of spare parts
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Generate regular procurement and supplier performance reports
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and ethical guidelines
Requirement
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain
- 2–5 years in spare parts sales, procurement, logistics, or industrial equipment
- Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF, SUM) and ERP/SAP systems
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
