About the role

We are seeking a Food Safety Manager – Thermal Process Authority to ensure the safety, compliance, and integrity of thermal and aseptic processes across our operations. This role will act as the regional Process Authority, providing technical leadership, regulatory oversight, and driving capability building across manufacturing and R&D teams. The position plays a critical role in maintaining product safety standards, supporting innovation, and strengthening Kerry’s food safety excellence across the region.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure product safety and quality by conducting thermal process reviews and issuing process letters for aseptic, retort, acidified, low-acid, and formulation-controlled products
  • Act as the Process Authority, maintaining required certifications and overseeing process filings, regulatory submissions, and inquiries in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Lead process deviation investigations, recommend product disposition, and drive continuous improvement in food safety practices
  • Provide technical guidance and drive knowledge transfer to factory and R&D teams, including development and delivery of thermal processing standards and training
  • Coordinate temperature distribution studies, aseptic line validations, and microbiological challenge studies in partnership with external stakeholders
  • Act as a technical expert to support internal stakeholders and respond to customer inquiries or technical investigations in a timely manner
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards, contributing to the continuous improvement of Kerry’s thermal processing practices
  • Represent Kerry in external industry networks and forums related to thermal processing and food safety
  • Support broader regional food safety initiatives, including HACCP training, raw material and finished goods risk assessments, and NPI quality and food safety support

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Certified Thermal Processing Authority (or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong experience in thermal processing (aseptic and/or retort), process validation, and regulatory compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety systems (e.g., HACCP, low-acid/acidified foods, microbiological risk control)
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and managing process documentation and audits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in process deviations and investigations
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across manufacturing, R&D, and quality
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical guidance
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and responsive to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel regionally as required
