In a world of supply chain uncertainty, we are the spark.
Technical Operations Analyst SPARKD Partners · Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Full-time · Hybrid · 1–3 years experience
About the role
Something isn't working — costs are creeping up, suppliers are underperforming, or a client has a great product but no clear path to market. That's where you come in.
As a Technical Operations Analyst at SPARKD Partners, you'll work directly alongside our team to diagnose supply chain challenges, assess market opportunities, and help our clients get measurable results. You'll need to think like an engineer and act like a businessperson — connecting technical realities to commercial decisions that actually move the needle.
This is a hands-on role. You won't be sitting on the sidelines. You'll be in the room.
What you'll do
Supply chain & sourcing
- Support supply chain diagnostics — mapping flows, identifying gaps, and spotting opportunities to cut cost or improve efficiency
- Conduct supplier research and assist in sourcing events, RFIs, and commercial evaluations
- Support sustainability assessments including carbon footprint calculations and lifecycle analysis
- Coordinate deliverables across active client projects, keeping things on track and on time
Market assessment & commercialization
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate target markets for client products
- Assess product-market fit by analyzing industry trends, competitor activity, and buyer behavior
- Map potential application areas and identify prospective buyers or distribution channels
- Translate technical product capabilities into commercially relevant narratives for target audiences
- Analyze data and package findings into clear, client-ready recommendations
What we're looking for
- Degree in engineering, chemistry, science, or a related technical field
- 1–3 years of working experience in industry, procurement, consulting, or operations
- Able to read technical documents and translate them into business terms — and vice versa
- Commercially aware — you understand that every technical decision has a cost and market implication
- Strong analytical instinct — you don't just collect data, you make sense of it
- Genuinely curious — you ask good questions and follow them through
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Bonus points
- Exposure to supply chain, procurement, or logistics in any industry
- Experience working with suppliers, distributors, or commercial partners
- Familiarity with market research methodologies or go-to-market strategy
- Familiarity with sustainability concepts (GHG, LCA, carbon footprint)
- A second language — we work across borders
Why SPARKD Partners
- Work directly with experienced practitioners — no busy work, real projects from day one
- Exposure to diverse industries: oil & gas, manufacturing, chemicals, construction, and more
- A small, sharp team where your contribution is visible and your growth is deliberate
- A culture built on standards, accountability, and dialogue — not hierarchy
