Role Purpose
The Engagement Coordinator supports engagement with religious organisations, grassroots groups, and community stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, inter-religious understanding, and social cohesion in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively engage religious groups and grassroots organisations to strengthen partnerships and communication
- Design and implement initiatives that support the needs and aspirations of community-based and religious organisations
- Work with government agencies, community stakeholders, and private sector partners to enhance social cohesion
- Serve as Secretariat for Racial and Religious Harmony Circles, coordinating programmes such as dialogues and learning journeys
- Support planning and execution of national events (e.g. Racial & Religious Harmony Month, Chingay, National Day)
- Evaluate engagement strategies and recommend improvements for effectiveness
- Support administration of the Harmony Circle Coordinating Council
- Assist in evaluation and disbursement of the Harmony Fund
Requirement:
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with community groups (NGOs, VWOs, or Government Agencies preferred)
- Strong written and spoken English; mother tongue languages/dialects are an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with data handling and basic financial literacy
- Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and after-office engagements
- Positive attitude, initiative, and strong sense of responsibility
- Passion for community building, inter-religious harmony, and social cohesion
Duration:
2 yearscontract (Option to extend another year)
