Job Overview
As an intern in the Wholesale Credit division, you will gain hands-on exposure to corporate credit management, accounts receivable, and collections within the telecommunications sector. You will support the credit team in monitoring delinquent accounts, ensuring accurate billing processes, and maintaining strong client relationships to facilitate prompt payment settlements. This role is designed for undergraduate students looking to develop practical financial operations and customer relationship skills in a dynamic, cross-cultural business environment.
Key Responsibilities (Work Life)
- Accounts Receivable Support: Assist the team in tracking assigned accounts receivable and updating customer outstanding balances accurately and timely.
- Reporting & Analytics: Help prepare and review monthly aging reports, identifying credit balances for potential refunds, transfers, or payment corrections.
- Billing Operations: Support the coordination of accurate billing, ensuring the prompt delivery and receipt of physical and electronic bills.
- Customer Engagement: Shadow credit specialists in assisting customers with payment information and methods to improve payment turnaround times and overall customer experience.
- Process Coordination: Assist in lodging billing issues, escalating payment disputes to relevant parties for swift resolution, and tracking cancelled auto-debit accounts.
- Collection Activities: Gain exposure to the end-to-end dunning process, including shadowing activities related to reminders, account restrictions, and the preparation of documentation for bad debt transfers or legal cases.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure follow-ups with customers and Client Managers are documented and executed as per departmental guidelines.
Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; however, a strong willingness to learn corporate credit processes is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively in a diverse, international team setting.
- Detail-oriented with a foundational understanding of basic billing or accounting principles.
- Good organizational and planning skills to manage multiple data tracking tasks.
- Ability to work effectively under guidance while showing initiative.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel or data management tools.
- Industry Interest: A keen interest in learning about telecommunications billing, corporate finance, and B2B collections.
