Test Manager – Banking Payments (RENTAS / SWIFT / ISO 20022)

Location: Bangi, Malaysia

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Manager with strong Banking Payments domain expertise to lead end-to-end testing activities across critical payment systems and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale testing programs involving RENTAS, SWIFT, real-time payments, and cross-border payment platforms.

Key ResponsibilitiesTest Management & Leadership

• Define and implement overall test strategy, test plans, and test governance frameworks.
• Lead and manage testing teams across multiple projects and payment streams.
• Drive test estimation, planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting activities.
• Monitor testing progress, defects, risks, dependencies, and quality metrics.
• Provide regular status reporting to project stakeholders and senior management.
• Ensure adherence to testing standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Manage SIT, System Integration Testing, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Verification activities.

Payments Domain Testing

• Lead testing initiatives across:
• Domestic Payments
• Cross-Border Payments
• Real-Time Payments
• High-Value Payments
• Bulk Payments
• Corporate Payments
• Validate end-to-end payment processing flows from initiation through settlement.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, payment standards, and operational requirements.
• Support testing activities involving RENTAS, SWIFT, and ISO 20022 payment messaging.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with Business, Operations, Compliance, Development, Architecture, and Vendor teams.
• Manage UAT planning, execution, and business sign-offs.
• Facilitate defect triage meetings, test governance forums, and stakeholder reviews.
• Coordinate testing deliverables across multiple teams and vendors.

Required Skills & Experience Mandatory

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of software testing experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a Test Manager or Test Lead role.
• Strong Banking and Payments domain expertise.
• Hands-on experience with RENTAS and SWIFT payment systems.
• Experience managing SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Verification.
• Strong defect management, reporting, and quality assurance experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor coordination skills.

Preferred

• Experience working within the Malaysian banking environment.
• Knowledge of DuitNow, IBG, RENTAS, SWIFT, and Cross-Border Payment platforms.
• Familiarity with ISO 20022 payment messaging standards.
• ISTQB, PMP, or equivalent professional certifications.
