Position Overview

  • Job Title: Programme Manager
  • Department: Programme
  • Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (On-site at Angkasapuri)
  • Employment Type: Contract
  • AIBD is seeking an international candidate with relevant experience in media development, broadcasting, communications, or intergovernmental cooperation to join its Secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Employment Pass sponsorship will be provided for the successful candidate, subject to Malaysian immigration approval.



Key Responsibilities

As a Programme Manager, you will orchestrate impactful initiatives that empower broadcasting professionals across the region. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Program Development: Assess developmental needs across AIBD member countries to design cutting-edge training curricula and regional activities.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Identify and contract industry experts, manage project lifecycles, and represent AIBD at international conferences and professional forums.
  • Financial & Operational Oversight: Prepare cost estimates, manage project budgets, secure potential funding sources, and generate performance and financial reports.
  • Public Relations & Outreach: Draft engaging program reports, articles, and press releases while building strategic networks, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities.



Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, Social Sciences, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Project/Development Management or a related discipline (mid-career level preferred).
  • Bonus Qualifications: Professional certifications in TV/Radio production, content creation, or documentary studies are highly advantageous.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Asia-Pacific broadcasting and electronic media landscape.
  • Communication: Flawless command of written and spoken English, paired with strong negotiation and public presentation skills.
  • Technical Savvy: Experience organizing technical training; knowledge of IT management (web design, infrastructure) or multimedia skills (graphic design, video editing, social media layout) is a major plus.
  • We are seeking tech-savvy individuals with a strong command of modern digital tools, social media management, and emerging media technologies.
  • Execution: Proven ability to multitask under tight deadlines, solve complex problems independently, and maintain resilience in a high-pressure environment.
