Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain over 100 production databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability. The role involves performing regular maintenance, proactive monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and upgrades. The DBA will also collaborate with cross-functional teams on database design, capacity planning, and migration projects, including transitioning from legacy systems. This position requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to work during off-hours when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage, maintain, and support multiple types of databases in production environments.

•Monitor database performance and health; proactively identify and resolve issues.

•Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backup, restore, and health checks.

•Handle database replication and cluster configurations.

•Diagnose and resolve database issues, abnormal behaviors, and system bottlenecks.

•Perform SQL tuning and collaborate with application teams to optimize queries.

•Provide daily operational support through ticketing systems.

•Plan and execute database migrations across versions, platforms, and database types.

•Evaluate and implement patches, bug fixes, and version upgrades.

•Develop and maintain scripts to automate database operations.

•Participate in projects including requirements gathering, implementation, and support.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, vendors, and analysts.

•Forecast database growth and provide resource planning recommendations.

•Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

•Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

•Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts.

•Hands-on experience with

MySQL

Oracle / Tibero

MSSQL

PostgreSQL

MongoDB

AWS RDS

AWS EC 2

•Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is an advantage.

•Experience with cloud environments (e.g. AWS) is an advantage.

•Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

•Experience with backup, restore, replication, and clustering.

•Strong Linux command-line skills and shell scripting abilities.

•Knowledge of Python or PowerShell is a plus.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Good communication and teamwork abilities.

•Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

•Willingness to work during off-hours when required.
