Responsibilities
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to support the development of robust Weather Information Dissemination systems. You will work closely with government agencies and stakeholders to design, implement, and enhance scalable backend solutions while driving engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend applications using NodeJS and TypeScript.
Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to improve system resiliency and development efficiency.
Assess existing technical environments and identify opportunities for improvement.
Recommend and implement engineering practices such as CI/CD and SRE.
Design and execute proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives.
Build and maintain cron jobs, scripts, and batch processing solutions.
Work with streaming data pipelines and cloud-native technologies.
Create technical documentation, workflows, and architecture diagrams.
Support solution rollouts and knowledge-sharing initiatives across teams.
Requirements
6+ years of software engineering experience in an individual contributor role.
Strong hands-on experience with NodeJS and TypeScript.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience building cron jobs, automation scripts, and batch processing systems.
Experience working with streaming data technologies.
Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise solutions.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in highly secured or air-gapped environments.
Exposure to banking, government, or other regulated industries.
Knowledge of CI/CD, SRE, and cloud-native engineering practices.
Pay: $4,120.21 - $6,200.00 per month
