Cashku is Malaysia’s first AI-native digital wealth management platform, owned by Advisonomics — a licensed, registered financial planning firm. Our mission is bold: make quality financial planning and execution accessible to every Malaysian.

We’re building fast . We’re an agentic, AI-native platform and we have two Software Engineering/Data Analytics Intern openings.

The Role

You’ll write code that ships — not shadow. Our interns build real features and tools used by the team and by investors, working close to engineering and leadership. The work spans our full stack, and we’ll match you to where you’re strongest across two focus areas:

•    Backend, data & AI — work on the engine behind Cashku. You'll build systems that pull in and make sense of large amounts of financial data, and use AI (we build on Claude) to turn it into features that help everyday Malaysians invest smarter.

•    Mobile & frontend — build the app real people use to grow their money. You'll ship features users actually tap on, track down and fix bugs, and create AI-powered tools that make the whole team faster.

You don’t need to cover both — tell us which pulls at you, and we’ll find a fit.

What You'll Do

•    Ship features end-to-end — build, test, and iterate on app and backend features, from first commit to bug fixes raised through JIRA.

•    Build data pipelines — automate fund-data and NAV ingestion, extraction, and normalisation; investigate data quality with SQL on our staging database.

•    Prototype AI tools — use Claude as the reasoning layer to build investor-facing features and internal compliance/audit tooling, with sensible guardrails.

•    Test and harden — QA new flows, document bugs clearly (expected vs. actual, with a proposed fix), and help raise the quality bar.

•    Move fast with AI — use AI tools daily to write better code, debug, and automate the boring parts — with strong human oversight and judgment.

What We're Looking For

•    Background: currently pursuing (or recently completed) a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related technical field. Strong adjacent backgrounds with real coding evidence are welcome.

•    Core skills (one focus, not all):

–   Backend / data / AI: Python, SQL (PostgreSQL); Go a strong plus; comfort with data pipelines and cloud (AWS Lambda).

–   Mobile / frontend: Flutter/Dart or another modern mobile/frontend framework; Git and JIRA; a sharp QA instinct.

•    AI fluency (important):

–   Actively uses AI tools in your daily workflow to code, debug, and ship faster.

–   Knows how to prompt effectively and validate outputs critically.

•    Mindset: curious, rigorous, fast learner, with strong ownership — you finish what you start.

•    Bonus: interest in investing or portfolio analytics, familiarity with Malaysian funds, or a genuine affinity for fintech/wealthtech.

Logistics

Full-time and on-site at our Kuala Lumpur office, running August to December 2026 — start date, end date, and length are flexible. The internship is remunerated, and high performers may be considered for conversion to a full-time role.
