About the role

Tribe Business Services is seeking an experienced Data Annotation Operation Manager to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the operational aspects of our data annotation services. As Data Annotation Operation Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, efficiency and scalability of our data annotation operations whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. This role is integral to supporting our clients' database development and administration needs through the delivery of high-quality annotated datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of data annotation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards and client specifications
• Manage and coordinate a team of data annotators, providing training, guidance and performance feedback to maintain productivity and quality standards
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices for data annotation workflows
• Monitor project progress and key performance indicators, preparing regular reports for senior management and stakeholders
• Quality assure annotated datasets through sampling, validation and testing protocols to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements, address concerns and ensure timely delivery of projects
• Identify process improvements and optimisation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects, including annotation guidelines, quality metrics and audit trails
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, confidentiality agreements and client-specific requirements
• Manage resource allocation and scheduling to maximise utilisation and meet project deadlines

What we're looking for

• 3-5 years of experience in operations management, project management or data annotation environments
• Proven experience managing teams and demonstrating strong leadership and people management skills
• Strong understanding of data annotation processes, data quality standards and database administration principles
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in using project management tools and data management systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, PDPA or equivalent compliance frameworks
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• Experience with machine learning datasets or AI training data is preferred
• Familiarity with database systems and SQL is advantageous
