Summary
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join the IT Technical Solutions team!
You will be joining our Technical Solutions team, where you will work together with teammates and stakeholders to design and build awesome, scalable web applications across the full technology stack. This role is built around modern AI-assisted development — you'll use AI coding tools throughout the SDLC to move faster, but the system design, architectural thinking, and engineering judgment behind every solution remain yours. We're looking for someone who can design well, not just prompt well.
You will also team up with colleagues across departments to solve challenges creatively and deliver results that make a real impact. If you love blending tech skills (like coding and problem-solving) with clear communication and a collaborative spirit, this role is perfect for you!
Job Description
You will be participating in the design and delivery of IT solutions for the Scoot Operations department, solving exciting airline requirements by building robust front-end and back-end systems end to end — using AI-powered development workflows as a core part of how you work.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into high quality, production-ready full stack applications
- Architect applications across the front end, back end, and data layers, adhering to engineering best practices and scalability standards
- Design and develop responsive web applications, building and consuming APIs while optimizing for performance and security
- Use AI coding assistants throughout the development lifecycle — for scaffolding, code generation, test writing, and code review — while retaining full ownership of architecture, correctness, and security of the final output
- Drive the system design and architectural decisions behind each solution — AI tools accelerate implementation, but the design reasoning, trade-off analysis, and technical direction are yours to own
- Critically review and validate AI-generated code rather than accept it at face value, catching issues in logic, architecture, or security that automated generation can introduce
- Develop, maintain, and optimize databases, services, and integrations that power the applications
- Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and support UAT
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Work with stakeholders (Product Owners, IT Business Analysts, UI/UX designers) to refine requirements and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in full stack development, building and shipping web applications
- Degree holder or Diploma holder with relevant experience
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks
- Independent, resourceful, analytical, and able to solve problems effectively
- A good team player who takes initiative with good communication skills
- Willing to pick up new technologies quickly and independently
- Strong grasp of software architecture patterns, data modeling, and modular design across the stack — able to reason through design trade-offs and explain the "why" behind technical decisions, not just implement them
- Proficient in at least one back-end language/framework (e.g. Node.js)
- Proficient in modern front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular) along with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
- Proficient in software integration using REST APIs and web services
- Proficient in SQL and experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiar with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Comfortable working with AI coding assistants as a daily development tool — able to prompt effectively, iterate on AI-generated output, and apply sound judgment about when to trust, modify, or reject it. Tool fluency alone isn't enough — we're looking for the design judgment to direct AI tools well, not just use them
