About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join Budi Pelangi sdn bhd in Papar, Sabah. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical and operational aspects of civil and structural engineering projects. As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards, maintaining safety protocols, and coordinating between design teams and construction personnel. This role is essential to the successful delivery of our projects and directly impacts our reputation for quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

1. Supervising daily construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings and approved methodologies

2. Monitoring and documenting project progress, including daily site reports, progress photographs and measurements

3. Conducting site inspections to verify the quality of materials, workmanship and adherence to safety standards

4. Liaising between the design team, project management and construction contractors to address technical queries and site issues

5. Managing site logistics, including materials delivery, equipment placement and workspace organisation

6. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel

7. Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including test certificates, inspection records and as-built drawings

8. Identifying and reporting potential risks or delays and recommending corrective actions

9. Supporting the project team in problem-solving and implementing solutions to technical challenges on site

10. Conducting site meetings and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders

What we're looking for

1. A professional qualification or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline

2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar site-based engineering role within the civil or structural engineering sector

3. Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, construction methodologies and structural principles

4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings

5. Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance procedures on construction sites

6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams including contractors, consultants and management

7. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping

8. A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction

9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with site management software

10. Valid driving licence and willingness to work on-site in Papar, Sabah

11. Preferred experience: Prior experience on infrastructure, building or commercial construction projects
