Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Changi. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for manufacturing, using CAD tools to create detailed models and drawings. Daily responsibilities include analyzing mechanical systems, performing calculations, supporting R&D activities, and working with production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality. The role involves coordinating projects, preparing technical documentation, troubleshooting mechanical issues on the shop floor, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes and products. The Mechanical Engineer will also support continuous improvement initiatives, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to design, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Machine Design, including selection of materials, components, and mechanisms for reliability and performance.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for 3D modeling, drafting, and preparing production-ready drawings.
- Capability in Project Management to plan tasks, manage timelines, coordinate with stakeholders, and track progress effectively.
- Experience or interest in Research and Development (R&D), including testing prototypes, evaluating designs, and implementing improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and quality control in a production environment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and safety standards.
- Ability to work on-site in Changi, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
