Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated Unix System Administrator to join our Infrastructure and Middleware Support team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration, JBoss, WebLogic, and IBM MQ in enterprise environments. This role involves supporting mission-critical applications by managing middleware platforms, performing deployments, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring system availability.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux/Unix (RHEL) servers.
- Support and manage middleware platforms including JBoss EAP, Oracle WebLogic, IBM MQ, and Apache Tomcat.
- Install, configure, deploy, and manage enterprise Java applications using JBoss, WebLogic, IBM WebSphere Application Server, and Apache Tomcat.
- Deploy and troubleshoot Java applications (WAR/EAR files) across development, UAT, and production environments.
- Monitor server health, application availability, and middleware performance.
- Perform routine system administration tasks, including user management, patching, and server maintenance.
- Troubleshoot application, middleware, and operating system issues in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
- Assist in JVM tuning, log analysis, and performance optimization.
- Support middleware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and deployment procedures.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities following ITIL best practices.
- Provide production support, including scheduled maintenance and on-call support when required.
Mandatory Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in Unix/Linux System Administration or Middleware Support.
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or other Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Basic administration experience with JBoss EAP, Oracle WebLogic, and IBM MQ.
- Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and managing enterprise applications using:
- JBoss Application Server
- Oracle WebLogic
- IBM WebSphere Application Server
- Apache Tomcat
- Strong understanding of Java EE architecture.
- Knowledge of JVM tuning and WAR/EAR deployment processes.
- Experience with Linux/Unix command-line administration and shell scripting.
- Basic knowledge of file systems, permissions, process management, and service administration.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Good to Have Skills
- Knowledge of Apache HTTP Server and NGINX.
- Understanding of Load Balancers and reverse proxy configurations.
- Basic networking knowledge including:
- TCP/IP
- DNS
- HTTP/HTTPS
- SSL/TLS
- Firewall rules
- Port management
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
- Experience with automation using Shell, Bash, or Python scripting.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and production support best practices.
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
