Role Description As an Augmented Reality Development Intern at MTS, you will support the design and implementation of AR experiences that integrate computer vision, sensor data, and real-time interaction. Day-to-day tasks include prototyping AR applications, assisting in building interactive interfaces, testing features on supported devices, and debugging issues under guidance from senior engineers. You will collaborate with the technical team to refine user experiences, document development processes, and contribute to demos and proofs-of-concept for internal and client-facing projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pekan, where you will work closely with cross-functional teams in a lab-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Augmented Reality (AR) development, including working with AR frameworks, 3D assets, and interactive user experiences.
- Candidates should possess skills in Virtual Reality (VR) or immersive media, with an understanding of spatial computing and real-time rendering concepts.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Analytical Skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, interpret technical requirements, and solve complex problems.
- Candidates should possess basic Accounting or project tracking skills to support budgeting, resource planning, or reporting tasks related to AR initiatives when needed.
- Candidates should have familiarity with programming languages commonly used in AR/VR (such as C#, C++, or relevant scripting languages) and experience with game engines or AR platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal, ARCore, ARKit) is highly beneficial.
- Candidates should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Interactive Media, or a related technical field, and demonstrate a strong interest in AI, computer vision, and immersive technologies.
- Candidates should be able to work on-site in Pekan, manage time effectively in a full-time schedule, and remain curious and adaptable in a fast-evolving research environment.
