Job Description: MQT API Developer
Role Overview
As an MQTT API Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable MQTT-based APIs and telemetry data integration solutions. You will work with Azure Data Lake Storage, Microsoft Fabric, and industrial telemetry platforms such as Ignition to enable reliable, secure, and high-throughput data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain MQTT APIs and services for real-time telemetry data exchange.
- Build high-throughput data ingestion pipelines integrating MQTT brokers with Azure Data Lake Storage and Microsoft Fabric.
- Integrate telemetry platforms such as Ignition with cloud-based data platforms.
- Optimize APIs and messaging infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and low latency.
- Develop REST APIs and microservices to expose telemetry data to downstream applications.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure communication for MQTT services.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues related to messaging and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with OT, IoT, cloud, and analytics teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
What you will bring
- 5+ years of experience in MQTT, API development, or IoT application development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage, Microsoft Fabric, and telemetry systems such as Ignition to manage high data flow.
- Experience with MQTT brokers (EMQX, HiveMQ, Mosquitto, or Azure IoT Hub).
- Proficiency in Python, C#, Java, or Node.js for backend/API development.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and integrating message-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of event streaming, data ingestion, and high-volume telemetry processing.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, and cloud-native deployment.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Ideally you have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Azure certifications (AZ-204, DP-203, or Microsoft Fabric), IoT certifications are advantageous.
- Experience with industrial automation or SCADA environments.
