Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer production database environments across MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
  • Monitor database performance, conduct daily Start-of-Day (SOD) checks, and resolve database-related issues proactively.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize database servers to ensure security, reliability, availability, and scalability.
  • Perform database backup, recovery, query tuning, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production database incidents and provide timely incident reporting and resolution updates.
  • Develop, maintain, and update database design and architecture documentation.
  • Lead database-related projects and provide regular progress updates while escalating risks or delays when required.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with database standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell where applicable.
  • Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager and incident/problem management tools to monitor and manage database environments.
  • Handle sensitive business and customer data with a high level of confidentiality.



Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Database Administration
  • Strong hands-on experience in Oracle and MySQL Database Administration (mandatory)
  • Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) environments
  • Strong expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Hands-on experience managing production database environments independently
  • Good understanding of database security, availability, scalability, and disaster recovery concepts
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and incident/problem management tools
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
