Overview

The Engineer(s) will be responsible for supporting the execution, maintenance, and technical management of fire protection systems. Depending on the assigned role, the Engineer(s) will be involved in either Project Works or Service & Maintenance Works, ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved specifications, industry standards, and relevant fire protection requirements.

Responsibilities

I) Project Engineer (Fire Protection Systems)

  • Manage and coordinate fire protection system installation projects, including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, hose reel systems, hydrant systems, and related firefighting systems.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure proper execution of works.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project progress.
  • Monitor site progress, installation activities, manpower, materials, and project schedules to achieve timely completion.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure works comply with approved drawings, quality standards, safety requirements, and relevant fire protection regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, subcontractors, and site personnel during project execution.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover activities with clients, consultants, and relevant authorities.
  • Assist in preparation and submission of project documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, testing reports, as-built drawings, and compliance documents.
  • Liaise with BOMBA, consultants, and relevant parties for inspection, approval, and certification processes.
  • Monitor project issues, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to minimise delays.
  • Assist in project cost monitoring, material control, and resource planning.

II) Service & Maintenance Engineer (Fire Protection Systems)

  • Perform servicing, preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair works for existing fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, hose reel systems, hydrant systems, and related equipment.
  • Attend to service calls, breakdowns, and technical issues reported by clients, providing effective troubleshooting and rectification solutions.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance activities according to service contracts and client requirements.
  • Carry out system testing, functional checks, and verification works to ensure system reliability and compliance.
  • Prepare service reports, inspection checklists, maintenance records, and technical documentation after completion of works.
  • Coordinate service schedules with clients, technicians, and internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to technicians during maintenance, repair, and rectification works.
  • Identify system defects and recommend repair works, upgrading works, or improvement solutions where required.
  • Assist in preparing service quotations, technical reports, and recommendations for clients.
  • Support warranty rectification works and follow-up activities for completed projects.
  • Maintain good communication with clients, address technical concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer / Service & Maintenance Engineer or similar role in the fire protection industry, specifically in Malaysia.
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, and related equipment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc).
  • Familiarity with local fire protection codes, regulations, and industry standards in Malaysia.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the site team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools is an advantage.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites within Klang Valley.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,300.00 per month
