Job Summary:
We're hiring on behalf of a global medical and travel security services organization for a FinOps Engineer to lead cloud cost strategy across AWS and Azure. This is a high-visibility role bridging Engineering, Finance, and Product — you'll be the driving force behind cost transparency, optimization, and governance, including the emerging space of AI token management. If you're passionate about turning cloud spend into a strategic advantage rather than just a line item, this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain unified multi-cloud cost dashboards (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management) for real-time spend visibility
- Own AI token management practice — allocate, optimize, and govern AI tool consumption and budgets
- Define and enforce cost allocation & tagging taxonomy across platforms
- Manage rate optimization (AWS Savings Plans / Azure Reserved Instances) including sizing, renewals, and governance
- Identify and automate cleanup of orphaned/idle cloud resources
- Partner with Finance (FP&A) on cloud forecasting and budget variance analysis
- Configure automated anomaly detection and cost spike alerts
- Advise IT leadership on FinOps-driven investment decisions
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years in Cloud Operations, IT Asset Management, or Cloud Financial Management
- Hands-on experience with AWS CUR, Azure Billing APIs, SQL, Python, and Power BI/Tableau
- Deep understanding of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) and Azure (VMs, SQL DB, Storage) pricing models
- Ability to translate technical cloud architecture into financial business impact for executives
- Strong financial modelling and business case skills
Preferred Certifications:
- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or FinOps Certified Engineer
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and/or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
