Software & AI Digitalisation Intern

Urban Farm Tech (UFT) is an AgTech social enterprise dedicated to making urban farming accessible through IoT, AI, and smart farming technologies. We design and deploy hydroponic, aquaponic, and vertical farming systems for schools, communities, corporates, and commercial farms.

We are on a mission to digitalise our business operations and develop AI-powered solutions that improve productivity, customer experience, and farm management.

Internship Overview

We are looking for passionate Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or AI students to join our digital transformation journey. As an intern, you will work directly with the founder to build real-world software solutions that support both business operations and smart farming systems.

This is a hands-on internship where your work will be implemented in actual business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop internal web applications and dashboards for business operations.

Assist in building AI-powered tools to automate administrative and operational tasks.

Develop and improve CRM, quotation, inventory, and project management systems.

Support IoT dashboards for monitoring hydroponic and vertical farming systems.

Integrate sensors, APIs, databases, and cloud services where applicable.

Explore the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, and automation platforms to improve productivity.

Participate in software testing, debugging, and documentation.

Collaborate with different departments to identify opportunities for digitalisation.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's student in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Basic knowledge of programming (Python, JavaScript, PHP, or similar).

Basic understanding of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).

Interest in AI, automation, IoT, or smart agriculture.

Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

Able to work independently and communicate effectively.

Bonus Skills

Experience with React, Flutter, Node.js, Laravel, or Django.

Experience with ESP32, Raspberry Pi, MQTT, or IoT platforms.

Familiarity with Git/GitHub.

Experience using AI coding assistants such as Codex or ChatGPT.

Knowledge of UI/UX design or cloud platforms is an advantage.
