Responsibilities

Job Overview :
  • We are seeking an IoT Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of industrial IoT (IIoT) infrastructure across manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity between industrial equipment, edge devices, and cloud platforms while maintaining high system availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Maintain, monitor, and support deployed industrial sensors, edge devices, gateways, and industrial communication networks.

  • Monitor system health and troubleshoot end-to-end data flow issues across the IoT ecosystem, from sensors and edge devices to cloud applications and dashboards.

  • Perform firmware, software, operating system, and security updates on edge devices, gateways, and supporting servers.

  • Support the onboarding, configuration, and integration of new machines, equipment, and facilities into the Industrial IoT (IIoT) platform.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents related to device connectivity, data quality, communication failures, system performance, and hardware issues.

  • Monitor system logs, alerts, and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve operational issues.

  • Maintain and update technical documentation, asset inventories, network diagrams, system configurations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, IT, and external vendors to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the IoT infrastructure.

  • Support preventive maintenance, system health checks, and continuous improvement initiatives for IoT platforms.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies and industrial security best practices.

Qualifications :
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

  • Experience supporting Industrial IoT (IIoT), OT systems, or manufacturing environments is preferred.

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including:

  • Modbus TCP/RTU

  • OPC UA

  • MQTT

  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server administration.

  • Understanding of industrial networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, switches, firewalls, and remote device connectivity.

  • Basic knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles, endpoint security, and remote device management.

  • Experience with IoT platforms or industrial middleware such as PTC Kepware and/or ThingWorx is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with edge computing, industrial gateways, and device management solutions is a plus.

  • Experience using monitoring and diagnostic tools for industrial systems is desirable.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • Willingness to provide on-site support and participate in after-hours support or on-call duties when required.
