Company Description MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD is engaged in complex engineering projects, including the Ethane Maximizing (EMAX) Project for Ethylene Malaysia Sdn Bhd, with Toyo Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd as the client. The company’s scope covers engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) activities for electrical and instrumentation works. Project teams are involved from the tender stage through detailed design, execution, and commissioning, adhering to Petronas Technical Specifications and local authority requirements. Work includes the design of electrical systems, layouts, and calculations, as well as managing multidisciplinary site teams. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Planner to develop, monitor, and control project schedules and progress for civil and structural works. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and coordination skills to support project teams in achieving execution milestones efficiently.

Job Purpose

To plan, coordinate, and monitor project schedules and progress for civil engineering works, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules (Level 1–4) for civil and structural works using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate all work activities into a master schedule.
• Monitor and analyze project progress, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and propose recovery plans.
• Prepare and update progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms, and other project control documentation.
• Support the Construction and Project Managers in tracking deliverables, milestones, and critical paths.
• Evaluate subcontractor schedules for alignment with the overall project plan.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports for internal management and clients.
• Attend project coordination and progress meetings to present schedule updates and discuss key issues.
• Ensure planning and reporting activities comply with company standards and quality management procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in project planning and execution performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience in project planning or scheduling for civil/construction projects (Oil & Gas preferred).
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project software.
• Develop project schedule and prepare S-Curve for project
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, resource planning, and progress measurement techniques.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOQ, and project schedules.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and project quality management systems is an advantage.
