Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support and administration for Hitachi Vantara, NetApp, IBM, Lenovo, Dell EMC storage systems and Brocade SAN switches.
- Provide technical support and assistance to project teams and server operation teams.
- Perform troubleshooting, fault investigation, incident resolution, recovery, and root cause analysis for storage and SAN-related issues.
- Plan and coordinate storage hardware, firmware, and software upgrades before product end-of-life (EOL) or end-of-support (EOS).
- Perform storage performance monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and optimization activities.
- Manage patching and software upgrades to ensure systems remain secure and up to date.
- Implement and maintain monitoring tools, scripts, and alerts to proactively detect system issues and potential hardware failures.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system availability, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Provide support for maintenance activities, project implementation, and ad-hoc requests, including after-office hours when required.
- Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements by providing relevant documentation and evidence.
- Maintain operational procedures, system documentation, and maintenance schedules.
- Prepare daily operational updates, incident reports, and storage activity reports.
- Prepare monthly service reports, capacity reports, and project status updates for management review.
- Work closely with support teams, Resident Engineers, ITO teams, Service Delivery Managers (SDM), vendors, and customers to ensure services are delivered according to agreed SLA and KPI targets.
- Participate in disaster recovery (DR) exercises, testing activities, and infrastructure projects when required.
- Ensure compliance with change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.
