Responsibilities
Supplier Development Engineer
Location: CTRM AeroSystems Sdn. Bhd., Subang
The Supplier Development Engineer works closely with suppliers to improve performance in quality, delivery, cost, and innovation. Acting as the key link between CTRM AeroSystems and its suppliers, the role focuses on driving continuous improvement, managing risks, strengthening supplier capabilities, and providing manufacturing expertise to ensure suppliers meet company standards and support business growth.
Qualification and Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial / Aerospace / Aeronautical), or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
1. Typically 3–5 years of hands-on experience in supplier development, quality assurance, Internal and external audit or strategic sourcing, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
1. Proficiency in Quality and Process Improvement tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, 8D Root Cause Analysis, APQP, PPAP, FAI).
2. Familiarity with ERP/Procurement software.
3. Knowledge of Visual Basic (VB) and CATIA v5 are advantageous.

6. Willingness to travel in short notice domestically or internationally to visit supplier sites when there is a need.
7. Applicant must be a Malaysian citizen or hold relevant residence status.
Expected Output:
1. Supplier Performance Management: Develop and track supplier scorecards and KPIs (Delivery, Quality, Cost, Service) to ensure vendors meet or exceed expectations.
2. Continuous Improvement: Work collaboratively with suppliers to identify bottlenecks, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing or service processes using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
3. Vendor Onboarding & Training: Lead the effective onboarding of new suppliers, ensuring they are aligned with our quality standards, compliance requirements, and business goals.
4. Audits & Assessments: Conduct on-site or remote supplier audits, and guide them in developing and executing Root Cause Corrective and Preventive action (CAPA) plans.
5. Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving programs with target suppliers, utilizing total cost of ownership (TCO) models.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams (Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Procurement) to facilitate technical knowledge sharing and smooth new product launches.
7. Market & Risk Analysis: Monitor industry trends, forecast material/service availability, and identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
8. Critical / Distressed Supplier Recovery: To lead and become focal point on supplier delivery until sustainable recovery.
9. Scouting / Sourcing Activity: To support Procurement Team in identifying potential and best fit supplier within the region.
