Job Description:
A. Design Review & Coordination
- Review architectural design submissions prepared by appointed consultants at all project stages, including concept, schematic, design development, tender and construction documentation.
- Ensure design compliance with the Employer’s Requirements, approved project brief, development objectives, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Identify design inconsistencies, omissions, clashes and constructability issues, and coordinate timely resolutions with consultants.
- Review architectural details, specifications, schedules, and material selections for completeness, practicality, quality and maintainability.
- Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, infrastructure, landscape and interior design disciplines.
B. Technical Coordination
- Lead and participate in technical coordination meetings with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor consultants’ design deliverables against agreed project programmes.
- Review BIM models, drawings and technical submissions for coordination and consistency where applicable.
- Track design changes and ensure revisions are properly incorporated across all disciplines.
- Support value engineering initiatives without compromising functionality, quality or regulatory compliance.
C. Construction Support
- Review architectural shop drawings, material submissions, mock-ups, and method statements where required.
- Assist the project team in resolving architectural and technical issues arising during construction.
- Conduct periodic site inspections to verify construction quality and compliance with approved drawings.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants on Requests for Information (RFIs), design clarifications and technical queries.
- Monitor architectural defects and support defect resolution during handover and the Defects Liability Period.
D. Regulatory & Compliance
- Coordinate with consultants to ensure timely submission to relevant authorities.
- Verify compliance with building codes, planning requirements, fire safety regulations, accessibility standards, and other statutory requirements.
- Support the project team in obtaining necessary approvals and certifications.
E. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain proper records of design reviews, comments, approvals, meeting minutes and technical correspondences.
- Prepare technical reports and status updates for management.
- Monitor closure of design review comments and coordination issues.
F. Carry out any duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in architectural design, technical coordination, or construction.
- Experience with property developers, architectural consultancies, or main contractors will be an advantage.
- Experience in high-rise residential, landed residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of architectural detailing, building systems, and construction methodology.
- Familiarity with local building regulations, planning requirements, fire safety, accessibility and relevant construction standards.
- Ability to review consultants’ drawings critically and identify design coordination issues.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection will be an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong technical, analytical skills, attention to details, good problem-solving skills, decision making skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
