Job Description

Responsibilities

The Role

The appointee supports the IT Support Manager by providing administrative and 1st level support for the day to day running of the IT Help Desk.

The role reports to the Director of Technology through IT Support Manager.

5-day work week with annual leave entitlement.


Job Responsibilities

1. Management and Support of Network Client Environment

  • Answering all incoming Help Desk Phone calls.
  • Logging of calls to the Help Desk System.
  • Ensuring allocated calls are seen through to resolution.
  • Escalation of calls when appropriate.
  • Attending to emails and walk-in request and enquiries.
  • Assisting users remotely in resolving issues encountered in their daily use of PCs.
  • Asset tagging, Receipt of stock and entering asset information into Help Desk system.
  • 1st Level support of the teachers, staff, and students with regards to user accounts, email, passwords, and usage issues with regards to using MS office, or other application and PC usage.
  • Assisting with mobile IT devices (iPad, Handphones, laptops, tablets, etc).

2. Communication

  • Excellent phone manner and strong customer service focus.
  • Maintain and develop communications systems between the Infrastructure team members; and
  • Develop sound communication with ICT STLAs; and
  • Follow up on help desk queries, referring to colleagues as required.

3. General

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards colleagues, users, and their needs.
  • Work in areas of the school in other job- related tasks as circumstances require.
  • Operate within the policies of the School.
  • Maintain a standard of personal image in keeping with the role.
  • Be responsible for reporting any concerns about a child to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years of relevant IT support experience is preferred; fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft 365, and standard business applications.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Apple devices and operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting a range of devices, including Dell laptops/tablets, MacBooks, iPads, and other mobile devices.
  • Basic understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts with the ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues via phone, remote support, or in-person assistance.
  • Previous experience in an educational environment will be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, and organisational skills.
  • Customer-focused with a positive, approachable attitude and a genuine passion for helping users.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies and skills.
