Job Title: Cost Controller

Salary: $ 5,000 - 7,000

Working Days: 5-6 days/week

JOB SUMMARY/ JOB OVERVIEW :

The Cost Controller safeguards the profitability of Initia’s F&B outlets by owning day-to-day cost discipline across food, beverage, and operational spend. This role drives accuracy in inventory, COGS, and purchasing controls, and partners closely with outlet managers and the kitchen to keep actual costs in line with targets. The Cost Controller is the front line of margin protection across our multi-brand, multi-outlet operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and report daily/weekly food and beverage cost percentages against budgeted targets.
• Reconcile theoretical vs. actual F&B cost and drive corrective action with outlet teams.
• Maintain and update recipe costings and menu cost cards.
• Set up and maintain POS system, including menu and recipe mapping.
• Flag margin erosion from price, portion, or supplier changes and recommend repricing.
• Oversee periodic stock counts (cycle and full) and ensure timely, accurate closing.
• Reconcile physical stock against system records and resolve discrepancies.
• Track and report wastage, spoilage, and complimentary/staff-meal costs.
• Verify purchase prices against agreed supplier rates and escalate deviations.
• Support supplier price benchmarking and periodic cost reviews.
• Review goods received against POs and invoices to prevent overcharging.
• Control and document inter-outlet stock transfers.
• Produce timely cost-control reports highlighting risks and savings opportunities.
• Support monthly outlet-level P&L review (product cost %).
• Enforce SOPs and conduct spot checks/audits across outlets to deter leakage.
• Undertake ad-hoc cost analysis, projects, and reporting as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience in Cost Control, Inventory Management, Finance, or Operational Accounting.
• Strong experience in the F&B, hospitality, restaurant, retail, or multi-outlet environment is highly preferred.
• Proven experience managing food and beverage costing, inventory controls, and margin analysis.
• Strong understanding of COGS management, inventory accounting, procurement controls, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, POS systems, inventory management systems, and ERP platforms.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded, and results-oriented with a strong focus on profitability and operational excellence.
