Database Automation Engineer (Oracle / MS-SQL)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Mode: Permanent full time

Working Hours: EMEA Shift (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM) (Shift Allowance Provided)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Database Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for database infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. You will work closely with infrastructure, database, and DevOps teams to automate database deployments, provisioning, configuration management, and CI/CD processes using modern automation tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain database infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate provisioning, deployment, and configuration of Oracle, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL environments.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Develop and optimize automation playbooks, modules, and deployment workflows.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, or GitLab CI.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automation workflows and deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborate with database, infrastructure, and cloud teams to improve automation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational standards.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Database Automation, Infrastructure Automation, or DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle, MS SQL, or PostgreSQL environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Git, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of Linux or Windows Server administration.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and API integration.
  • Good understanding of networking, security best practices, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
