Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Chemist role based in Selangor, Malaysia. The Assistant Chemist will support daily laboratory operations, including preparing samples, conducting chemical tests, and documenting experimental results. The role involves assisting in the development and testing of protective coatings, collaborating with the R&D team to improve formulations, and performing routine analysis to ensure product performance. The Assistant Chemist will participate in quality control activities, such as inspecting raw materials, monitoring in-process batches, and verifying finished product specifications against standards. The position also includes maintaining laboratory equipment, following safety procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production and R&D environment.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Science, or related scientific field preferred.
  • Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills, including sample preparation, testing procedures, and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Candidates should possess solid Quality Control capabilities, with experience in inspecting materials, monitoring production consistency, and documenting results.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Analytical Skills for interpreting test data, troubleshooting formulation issues, and supporting process optimization.
  • Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) and Research experience to assist in developing and refining coating formulations and methodologies.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively with production and R&D teams.
  • Familiarity with coatings, paints, or related chemical industries is an advantage, along with knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
