NextLab is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing software engineering team in delivering enterprise-grade products. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing software development activities, driving technical excellence, mentoring engineers, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a software engineering team.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
- Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and global engineering teams to deliver product roadmap objectives.
- Drive architecture, technology selection, and engineering best practices.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
- Improve engineering processes, productivity, and software quality standards. Identify and resolve technical, operational, and project risks.
- Work closely with global teams across different regions to support product development and releases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of software development experience with 3 years in engineering leadership or people management.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development and software architecture.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design, software development methodologies, and Agile practices. Experience with enterprise applications and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Working experience with enterprise applications such as ERP, PLM, CRM, and SCM.
- Familiar with Operating System, Compiler, or Runtime technology.
- Understanding of enterprise directory deployment scenarios (Active Directory, LDAP, or ADSI) and directory schema extensions is a plus but not required. Must have a good knowledge of internet technologies (XML, Web Services, SOA, etc.) and familiarity with agile development principles.
- Experience in working with build and release environment (perforce, Ant, Maven, etc) and test automation frameworks such as (STAF, Junit, Grinder, Open STA, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of database design and application development.
- Experience managing distributed or global engineering teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), Digital Rights Management (DRM), Information Security, or Enterprise Software solutions.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
