Responsibilities

About the role

This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Costing Engineer to join the Precision Machining team at ETLA Limited, a leading contract equipment manufacturer based in the Changi East Region. As a Costing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's strategic objectives by providing accurate cost analysis and pricing recommendations for precision machining projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Review and validate costing sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness of all quotation elements.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team to obtain supplier quotes in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all RFQs are completed and submitted within the committed timelines.
  • Manage the RFQ team’s activities and escalate any issues or delays to the team lead as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop and maintain project timelines/Gantt charts for customer visibility.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) projects, acting as the primary liaison with the customer.
  • Review DFM activities and quotations to ensure feasibility, cost-efficiency, and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Ensure all deliverables are aligned with the committed schedules and customer expectations.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure the project progresses smoothly, with proper handover to project management and production teams.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Costing Engineer or in a similar role within the mechanical / precision engineering industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Precision Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in RFQ processes and project management
  • Strong understanding of costing, DFM, material, treatment and manufacturing processes (precision machining & Sheetmetal fabrication).
  • Proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., Gantt charts, MS Project)
  • Proficient with computers and in using MS word, Excel, Power point, SolidWorks
  • A team player and able to interact with customers effectively.
