Senior Java Developer

Location: Punggol (Onsite)
Duration: 12-month renewable contract

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
• Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including business requirement analysis (BRD), functional specifications (FSD), technical design, development, testing (Unit, SIT, UAT), deployment, go-live planning, and production support.
• Design and support FIX Protocol interfaces for order routing, execution, and trade processing.
• Develop and maintain message-driven integrations using Apache, JBoss, and MQ technologies.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize system performance.
• Work closely with business users, project managers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and external partners to deliver stable and scalable solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and deployment documentation while ensuring compliance with security and architectural standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• Experience with Apache, JBoss, and message queue (MQ) technologies.
• Strong scripting skills using Shell, Perl, or Python.
• Solid experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Good database development experience with Oracle and Sybase (MS SQL is an advantage).
• Exposure to or experience with the FIX Protocol and financial/trading systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the complete SDLC, including requirements analysis, technical specification writing, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Experience supporting mission-critical applications in a production environment.
• Experience in vendor management, stakeholder coordination, and working with cross-functional teams.
