About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Malware Reverse Engineering Expert to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Android security assessments, malware analysis, reverse engineering, threat modeling, and secure software development. This role involves investigating sophisticated Android threats, conducting large-scale malware analysis, and contributing to the enhancement of Android security and privacy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform triage, threat hunting, and advanced security analysis of Android applications.
  • Conduct malware analysis and reverse engineering of Android applications at scale.
  • Investigate malicious code, identify threat vectors, and classify malicious applications based on established security standards and procedures.
  • Analyze protected and obfuscated samples to uncover hidden logic, decrypt payloads, and produce actionable security findings.
  • Document technical findings, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and remediation recommendations clearly and accurately.
  • Research emerging Android attack techniques, vulnerabilities, and threat actors.
  • Advocate secure coding practices and contribute to security-by-design initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen Android Security and Privacy capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
  • 12 to 18 years of experience in security assessments, security architecture reviews, threat modeling, or malware research.
  • Strong expertise in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and software development.
  • Hands-on experience with Android reverse engineering, APK/DEX analysis, SDK analysis, and threat modeling.
  • Deep understanding of Android security architecture and attack surfaces.
  • Experience with ARM-based architecture and low-level code analysis.
  • Proficiency in reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and other industry-standard open-source utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of security engineering, network security, authentication mechanisms, security protocols, and applied cryptography.
  • Experience in Android application development using C/C++ and Java.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and automation for security analysis.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in identifying and classifying malicious Android applications and malware families.
  • Experience using sandbox environments and automated analysis tools to assess application behavior.
  • Ability to analyze heavily obfuscated malware and identify hidden payloads and malicious logic.
  • Familiarity with security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, and secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
