A TurnAround Work Leader (or Turnaround Execution Lead for Rotating Equipment) in Bintulu's oil and gas sector oversees major plant shutdown maintenance, overhauls, and field repairs for critical machinery like compressors, turbines, and large pumps. The role manages site execution teams, work scopes, safety compliance, and schedule milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution & Leadership: Manage mechanical contractors and specialist technicians during plant shutdowns/turnarounds for rotating equipment.
- Scope Management: Ensure work packs, parts, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) clearances for pumps, turbines, and compressors are ready and executed safely.
- Safety & Quality (HSE): Enforce strict permit-to-work (PTW), hazard identification, and safety audits tailored to high-pressure brownfield environments.
- Progress Tracking: Coordinate with planners to track critical paths using tools like Primavera P6 and address site bottlenecks instantly.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Oversee alignment, non-destructive testing (NDT), dimensional checks, and re-commissioning sign-offs.
Key Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 6 to 10 years in oil and gas, petrochemical, or refinery maintenance, with at least 2–3 specific turnaround cycles as a lead/supervisor.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, gas/steam turbines, pumps, mechanical seals, and alignment procedures. [
