Job Description

Requirements

  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and project budgets.
  • Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and technical specifications.
  • Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for pricing comparisons.
  • Analyse project costs, labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Prepare tender submissions and cost proposals within required deadlines.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Maintain estimation databases and historical cost records for future reference.
  • Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, site supervisors, and finance teams to track project expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Assist in cost control, variation order pricing, and project cost reporting.
  • Support project planning by ensuring material availability aligns with project schedules and attend project meetings to provide cost and procurement updates when required.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in project estimation and procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation, procurement processes, and contract administration.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines with high attention to detail and integrity.

Responsibilities

The Project Estimator (Procurement) is responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, managing procurement activities, sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely purchasing of materials and services to support project execution. This role works closely with project teams, suppliers, and clients to achieve project objectives within budget and schedule.
